FemellaBodily function is not a choice. It is a constant unconscious
force.Bodies bloom to bring us joy with age, but also begin to degenerate. The female body is unique; a vessel designed for reproduction.A design which requires a certain amount of responsibility. With this responsibility comes societal expectations. These come in the form of what to wear and how to behave in public to more private images that instruct us on how to maintain the body. Self image plays a role in being a female. There is encouragement to decorate the outside which hides the inner workings of the form. We see the outer female form used for advertisements; we look at ourselves in mirrors constantly examining our external appearance. We choose to ignore what is inside until it serves a purpose. It is only in isolated situations in clinical diagrams or private moments that we get any reference to what is on the inside. We do not care to think about how the body functions until it is not doing what it should. |
